NASF and other organizations raising funds in support to the Faroe Islands after storms.
Violent gale storms over the Christmas period destroyed a great deal of property in the Faroe Islands. Individuals and organizations in Iceland reacted by raising funds in support of the national rescue teams. The funds hand over and signing of cooperative agreements took place at the Faroese consular office in Reykjavik on February 3rd with the new Icelandic minister of Foreign Affairs in attendance; followed by a reception hosted by the President of Iceland.
NASF tries to be involved in every goodwill project between the two nations and has maintained a salmon conservation agreement with them since April, 1991.
Negotiating parties will meet in February to discuss the future of the salmon in the NE Atlantic.
